Saira Shaheed was a 34 years old lady and mother of four children, aged between three years and twelve years. She earned SHAHADAT (martyrdom) on Wednesday 17th August 2011 at 9:30pm in Sabzazar, Lahore, while she was coming back to her home from the local market. Three robbers stopped her on her way and snatched her bag and jewellery, one of them then fired at her. As a result, she received serious bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Saira Bashir SHAHEED was the only sister of three brothers and had performed Hajj only a couple of years ago leaving her four small children behind. She was a very brave and committed woman as well as being a student of the interpretation of the Holy Quran. Two of her children were undergoing the memorisation of the entire Quran.

We pray that Allah Almighty blesses her with all the rewards of a shaheed, a 'martyr', and with the highest of the ranks of Heaven - Ameen.
